We will accommodate you in permanent erected budget tents or hotels depending on the communities we visit. This allows us greater access to remote areas and allows us easy access to the locals in order to socialize and embrace an authentic Kenya cultural safari.

We will buy fresh produce and other food stuff locally, and to ensure high standards of hygiene; the meals are prepared by our own cook additionally we also cater for special diets [Vegetarian/Vegan meals] on request.

Transport Logistics

Transport will be facilitated by 4×4 safari vehicles that are customized for the ultimate safariing experience. The vans / jeeps are accessorized with pop up roofs ideal for game viewing, hifi radio communication gadgets and comfortable seats.

Eight Days Cultural Safari In Kenya. [Itinerary]

Day One: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

A representative from Kenya epic safaris will meet you at your hotel or pick you up from the airport and after briefing you he or she will hand you over to your assigned driver guide to facilitate your cultural safari in Kenya. You will be driven to lake Naivasha by your driver guide who will keep you entertained and informed on different sceneries as you journey to your destination.

A brief stopover at the great rift valley viewpoint is worthwhile; where you will get to see part of the valley and take some photos / selfies. The valley runs from Jordan in Israel to Mozambique a distance of 8,000 miles. Proceed on arriving by mid morning. Transfer to the hell’s gate national park where you will collect your bikes and in the company of our guide begin cycling amidst wildlife to the rangers post where we will have lunch.

Subsequently after lunch we will leave the bikes and start a walking safari. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge including the central tower. The volcanic activity is very evident from the hot water streaming on the walls of the gorge. The guided gorge walk takes two hours.

The hot springs and a fabulous scenic landscape besides the diverse wildlife are just incredible. Walk back to pick your bikes and cycle back to the park entrance and transfer to Fish Eagle Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Two: Lake Naivasha – Kericho – Kisumu

Wake up at the crack of dawn to a scrumptious breakfast and shortly afterwards transfer to lake Naivasha for a boat ride. The lake is at the highest point of all the lakes within the Rift valley, stands at 1800 meters above sea level and it is a freshwater lake. The lake has schools of hippos and abundant bird life most notably the fish eagle.

Depart and travel to Kericho town also known as the “Green town” because it’s surrounded by tea plantations. This is where we will have lunch before proceeding for a walk in the tea estates and especially the renowned tea hotel to see tea leaves being picked (it’s in the center of estates surrounded by manicured lawns). Continue with our journey to Kisumu arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at a budget hotel.

Day Three: Kisumu

After breakfast; visit the impala game park where you see antelopes, ostriches along with a few caged mammals. More importantly you will have a great chance of seeing Hippos in their natural habit at close range.

Dunga beach is well known for fishing and the possibility to see the rare swamp antelopes, sitatunga. After lunch, take a city tour including the museum, one of the oldest markets in Kenya and slum dwelling. Dinner and overnight stay in your budget hotel.

Day Four: Kisumu – Lake Victoria

Depart Kisumu after breakfast and travel to Wagusu via Kit-Mikayi, a legendary stone of the area. We will learn the history and the sacred attachment of this rock to the Luo tribe. Proceed to Akala market to interact with the locals selling their wares.

Journey on to Ndori then further on as you see the landscape to Luanda beach for an onward ferry to Mbita Point. Transfer to Lake Victoria. The sunset is magnificent and the air is fresh with a deafening silence at night. Dinner and overnight stay at the village.

Day Five: Lake Victoria

Following an early breakfast; we set off with our picnic lunches for fishing using traditional boats as we enjoy the views from the lake. In the afternoon, you will be driven past the cause–way to Rusinga Island with a visit to Tom Mboya Mausoleum. Trek to Ligongo Hills for a panoramic view of the Kavirondo Gulf and not long after you will be driven back to the village for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Six: Lake Victoria

Depending on the day, a hunting spree is possible, a boat ride that takes us to see the monitor lizards, birds and for a fishing encounter with the locals is enjoyable.

Lunch is in a hotel at Wagusu. Afternoon is spent exploring the area; meeting the local people and socializing. dinner and overnight stay at the village.

Day Seven: Lake Victoria – Got Ramogi – Kisumu

Depart Wagusu after breakfast for Got Ramogi, a legendary mountain from where Ramogi (the great grandfather of the tribe) started life. It is naturally uninterrupted and surrounded by some of the oldest trees; in addition its frequented by many traditional doctors for many reasons.

Walk through the forest and after lunch, travel to kisumu. Have a relaxed evening at a budget hotel. Nightlife can be experienced on this day to celebrate a cultural night out.

Day Eight: Kisumu – Nairobi

After breakfast, travel back to Nairobi. Lunch en route arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at a hotel or the airport where your cultural safari in Kenya ends.
