Find the most ideal adventure in Kenya exploring the Loita hills plain on a walking safari package spanning six days. Budget Accommodation

On this walking safari, we will accommodate you in tents which will be mounted in the campsite right in the bush. This allows us greater access to remote areas and allows us easy access to the locals in order to socialize and embrace an authentic bush safari. All camping equipment is carried by local porters, you only require a day-pack with personal effects.

We buy fresh produce and other food stuff locally, and to ensure high standards of hygiene; the meals are prepared by our own cook additionally we also cater for special diets [Vegetarian/Vegan meals] on request.

Transport Logistics

Transport will be facilitated by 4×4 safari vehicles that are customized for the ultimate safariing experience. The vans / jeeps are accessorized with pop up roofs ideal for game viewing, hifi radio communication gadgets and comfortable seats.

Six Days Walking Safari To Loita Hills. [Itinerary]

Day One: Nairobi – Maji Moto Campsite

A representative from Kenya epic safaris will meet you at your hotel or pick you up from the airport and after briefing you he or she will hand you over to your assigned driver / hiking guide to facilitate the Loita hills walking safari.

You will be driven to your destination by your driver guide who will keep you entertained and informed on different sceneries as you journey to Narok town and further to maji moto junction where we shall have lunch.

Not long after, we will start walking for about three hours arriving at the maji moto campsite in the afternoon. Upon settling in the camp, we will hike the surrounding hills and take a bath in a natural hot spring. Dinner and overnight at Maji Moto Campsite.

Day Two: Maji Moto Campsite – Letikunyi Campsite

After breakfast, begin a 18km trek through the Loita plains following the Masai trails where thorny shrubs give shelter to wildlife like zebras, gazelle, wildbeests among other animals along with bird species that can be encountered on the way to Letikunyi. You are bound to encounter Masai herdsmen grazing their livestock. Dinner and overnight stay at Letikunyi Campsite.

Day Three: Letikunyi Campsite – Morijo Campsite

Wake up as the African sun rises. After a scrumptious breakfast embark on the 16km day hike. We begin walking through the plains before the sun is too hot. We will pass Narosora for lunch and shopping for essential that might be out of stock.

After spending an hour or two in this modern town in Maasai land, proceed with the trek to Morinjo arriving early evening. Dinner and overnight at Morinjo campsite.

Day Four: Morijo Campsite – Entosapia Campsite

Early breakfast and there after break camp and start walking to Entulele School where you will take a short moment to interact with pupils and there after continue with the hike through Engutoto villages; through the bushes where you might encounter baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, gazelles and antelopes arriving Entosapia in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in Entosapia campsite.

Day Five: Entosapia Campsite – Enchoroi Village Campsite

Enjoy your breakfast as the African sun rises. Our walk to Enchoroi village will take about three hours, where you will visit Enchoroi primary school and the villages around interacting with the Masai community. After lunch we shall proceed walking to Enchoroi village campsite arriving in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day Six: Enchoroi Village Campsite – Nairobi

Today you will have an early breakfast and start walking up along the trail on the ridge leading to the great rift valley viewpoint. After a panoramic photo moment from the top, descend the Ngurumani escarpment before the sun gets too hot and further to Nguruman village at the bottom of the valley.

We will meet up with our driver guide who will transfer us to Nairobi via Lake Magadi; lunch en route arriving Nairobi in the afternoon. Drop off at a hotel or the airport where our Loita hills walking safari ends.

Know Your Reserve

The low-lying mountain range is located south of Nairobi and north east of the Masai Mara game reserve.

This area is rarely visited and as a result it is widely believed that the most traditional Maasai culture exists here. There are pockets of remote forests, wide open plains surrounded by the stunning hillsides and dotted with roaming wildlife.

This isn’t an area for viewing big game but more off a place to enjoy the scenery, walk with the local Masai and learn more about their culture and there way of life.
